Hmm.

Before heading down to SXSW this year, Aza Raskin, now of Mozilla Labs, got in touch with me to see if I’d be interested in designing some t-shirts for them. Why, yes please.
The goal was to produce a t-shirt that would be given away free at the Mozilla Party that was held at Moonshine down in Austin. I ended up doing two designs, one for Firefox and the other, more appropriately for Mozilla Labs. This was the shirt that was to be passed out for free.
The Mozilla Labs t-shirt.
I’m happy with the way they turned out. The end result for me was to make a shirt that wasn’t your typical Mozilla shirt — cutesy, iconic, bright, friendly. Mozilla Labs has a different mission in mind — technical innovation and so I wanted to reflect that with the use of a more modern and minimal look that wasn’t your typical conference or freebie shirt. Essentially, a cool t-shirt that you’d actually wear at other times and would provoke questions.

The design for the shirt.

Nicely done, Naz, and definitely a refreshing departure from the useless pile of free shirts I left behind in Austin.

Hey, I got one of these at said party, and I’ve already worn it twice since. Can’t say as much for the other shirts. Very nice.
